An Organic Botanical Blend with Hibiscus, Moringa & Ashwagandha

Seven organic botanicals. One remarkably colorful cup.

Natural Nurture Tea builds on a foundation of hibiscus — one of the most culturally traveled botanical tea ingredients in the world — and layers in moringa leaf, ashwagandha root, lemongrass, peppermint, turmeric, and green tea. The result is a blend that is bright, floral, and lightly tart, with the warm earthy depth of Ayurvedic botanicals running underneath.

Hibiscus produces a deep ruby red that transforms the cup visually. It is a tea that announces itself before you taste it.

Caffeine notice: This blend contains green tea and is not caffeine-free. Steeping at lower temperatures or for shorter times will reduce caffeine extraction.

The Ingredients

Hibiscus (Roselle) — Hibiscus sabdariffa is one of the most culturally widespread botanical tea ingredients in the world. It is the base of Jamaica in the Caribbean, agua de jamaica in Mexico and Central America, bissap across West Africa, karkadé in Egypt and Sudan, and roselle tea across Southeast Asia. Few botanical tea ingredients have traveled as far across cultures and continents. The dried calyces of the hibiscus flower brew into a deep, jewel-toned ruby liquid with a bright, tart flavor reminiscent of cranberry. In this blend, hibiscus provides the dominant color, the tartness, and the floral lift that defines the cup.

Moringa — The Moringa oleifera tree is native to the foothills of the Himalayas and widely cultivated across South Asia, East Africa, and the Caribbean. Known in many cultures as the "Miracle Tree" for the breadth of its traditional uses across multiple systems of indigenous and classical medicine, moringa leaf has been used as a food ingredient and botanical component for centuries. In this blend, it adds a green, slightly vegetal depth beneath the brightness of hibiscus and mint.

Ashwagandha Root — One of the most recognized botanicals in the Ayurvedic Rasayana tradition, widely classified as an adaptogenic botanical. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) has been part of classical Indian botanical practice for thousands of years, documented in the Charaka Samhita and other foundational Ayurvedic texts. Its flavor is earthy and faintly bitter — a grounding note that anchors the lighter, more floral elements of this blend.

Lemongrass — Cymbopogon citratus is a tall grass native to South and Southeast Asia, widely used in culinary and tea traditions across Thailand, Vietnam, India, and beyond. Its flavor is bright and citrusy, with a clean herbal freshness. In this blend, lemongrass works alongside peppermint and hibiscus to give the cup its characteristic brightness.

Peppermint — Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) is a hybrid herb cultivated for centuries across Europe and the Mediterranean and now used globally as a culinary and tea ingredient. Its flavor is more intense than spearmint — bold, cooling, and unmistakably fresh. In this blend, peppermint contributes a clean counterpoint to the earthier ashwagandha and turmeric notes and amplifies the bright, refreshing character of the hibiscus and lemongrass.

Turmeric — The golden rhizome of Curcuma longa, cultivated across South Asia for over four thousand years and a cornerstone of Ayurvedic botanical tradition. Turmeric contributes a warm, earthy depth and a faint bitterness that balances the tartness of the hibiscus. It also contributes a golden undertone to the already vivid color of the brewed cup.

Green Tea — The Camellia sinensis base of this blend. Green tea provides structure and naturally occurring caffeine. Cultivated across East and South Asia for thousands of years, it serves here as the botanical foundation that ties the blend's floral, herbal, and spice elements together.

About This Blend

Natural Nurture Tea is among the more approachable and visually striking blends in the NutriBotanix collection. The hibiscus-forward character gives it a tartness and color that sets it apart from the spice-dominant blends, while the Ayurvedic botanical layer — ashwagandha, turmeric, moringa — adds depth and grounds the cup in classical Indian botanical tradition.

All seven ingredients are organic.

NutriBotanix sources ingredients from suppliers that provide documentation and quality standards appropriate for botanical ingredients.

Brewing Instructions

  • Amount: 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water
  • Water temperature: 195–205°F (90–96°C)
  • Steep time: 3–5 minutes — shorter for a lighter, brighter cup; longer for more depth
  • Vessel: Infuser basket, tea strainer, or French press
  • Serve: Hot or iced — the hibiscus character holds up exceptionally well over ice

This blend brews into a deep ruby color. The color intensifies with longer steeping time.

Honey Pairings

The tartness of hibiscus and brightness of peppermint and lemongrass pair well with lighter, floral honeys. We recommend:

  • Orange Blossom Honey — A natural complement to hibiscus — floral and light, it softens the tartness without overwhelming it
  • Sourwood Honey — Buttery and mild, lets the hibiscus and mint flavors lead while adding a gentle richness

Brewing Tools

The right tools make loose leaf tea simple.

  • Unbleached Disposable Tea Bags — Single-use, unbleached, chlorine-free. Fill, steep, discard. No strainer required.
  • Heart-Shaped Tea Infuser — Reusable stainless-steel infuser for everyday loose-leaf brewing. Fits standard mugs and teacups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tea contain caffeine?
Yes. This blend contains green tea, which is naturally caffeinated. This is not a caffeine-free product. Steeping with cooler water or for a shorter time will reduce caffeine extraction. The hibiscus, moringa, ashwagandha, lemongrass, peppermint, and turmeric in this blend are all naturally caffeine-free.

What does it taste like?
Bright and tart, with a floral lift from hibiscus and a cooling freshness from peppermint and lemongrass. The turmeric and ashwagandha add a mild earthy warmth underneath. The overall character is lighter and more refreshing than the spice-forward Ayurvedic blends in the collection — hibiscus leads, and the other botanicals support.

What color does it brew?
A deep ruby red, driven by the hibiscus. The color intensifies with steeping time and is one of the most visually striking in the NutriBotanix tea collection. It holds its color well over ice.

Is this blend organic?
Yes. All seven ingredients are organic.

How much should I use per cup?
1 teaspoon per 8 oz is a good starting point. Adjust to taste — more leaf for a more intense hibiscus character, less for a lighter cup.
