Green Tea & Botanical Blend
A bright and complex blend built around green tea, guayusa, spearmint, ginger, and traditional Ayurvedic botanicals.
This loose leaf blend brings together nine ingredients — each with its own character, each selected with intention. It brews into a layered cup that is aromatic, lightly spiced, and gently stimulating.
⚠️ Caffeine Notice: This blend contains green tea and guayusa, both of which are naturally caffeinated. Guayusa in particular is a high-caffeine leaf. This is not a low-caffeine or caffeine-free product. If you are sensitive to caffeine, please brew with cooler water, shorten steeping time, or choose a different blend.
The Ingredients
Green Tea — A lightly oxidized tea leaf from the Camellia sinensis plant, prized across East Asia for its clean, grassy flavor profile. Green tea contains naturally occurring caffeine and L-theanine, an amino acid that occurs alongside caffeine in the tea plant.
Guayusa — A traditional leaf from the Ecuadorian Amazon, used for centuries by Indigenous communities as a morning ritual drink. Guayusa is related to Yerba Maté and is naturally high in caffeine. It contributes a smooth, slightly sweet character and forms part of the energetic backbone of this blend.
Spearmint — A classic culinary and herbal ingredient with a cool, refreshing presence. Spearmint adds brightness and helps balance the deeper, earthier notes in the cup.
Ginger Root — Dried ginger brings warmth and spice. It has been used across Ayurvedic, Chinese, and Western herbal traditions for thousands of years. Its flavor is assertive and grounding.
Tulsi (Holy Basil) — Revered in Ayurvedic tradition as one of the most important botanicals in the pharmacopoeia. Tulsi has a complex, slightly clove-like flavor that adds depth and an aromatic quality to the blend. It is classified as an Ayurvedic Rasayana — a category of botanicals traditionally used to support overall vitality and longevity.
Ashwagandha Root — An ancient Ayurvedic root and one of the most recognized botanicals in the Rasayana tradition. Ashwagandha has an earthy, slightly bitter character that grounds this blend. It has been used in Ayurvedic practice for thousands of years as a general tonic botanical.
Shatavari Root — A traditional Ayurvedic botanical from the asparagus family, used in Rasayana practice for centuries. Shatavari has a mild, slightly sweet flavor and contributes smoothness to the overall profile of the cup.
Moringa Leaf — Dried moringa leaf comes from the Moringa oleifera tree, widely cultivated in South Asia and East Africa. It has a green, slightly vegetal flavor and has been used as a nutritive botanical ingredient across traditional systems of medicine.
Cardamom — Aromatic pods from the ginger family, used extensively in South Asian and Middle Eastern culinary and botanical traditions. Cardamom adds a floral, spiced note and ties the blend's flavors together elegantly.

Brewing Instructions
- Amount: 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water (adjust to taste)
- Water temperature: 175–185°F (80–85°C) — do not use boiling water, which can make green tea bitter
- Steep time: 2–3 minutes for the first steep; reduce to 1–2 minutes if caffeine-sensitive
- Vessel: Use an infuser basket, tea strainer, or French press
- Serve: Straight, or with a touch of honey
This blend can be steeped a second time at slightly higher temperature for a different flavor profile.
Honey Pairings
The warmth of ginger and spice of cardamom pair well with floral and lightly sweet honeys. We recommend:
- Orange Blossom Honey — Light and floral, complements the spearmint and tulsi
- Sourwood Honey — Buttery and mild, holds its own alongside the ginger and cardamom warmth

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this tea contain caffeine?
Yes. This blend contains both green tea and guayusa. Guayusa is naturally high in caffeine — comparable to or exceeding the caffeine content of coffee depending on preparation. Green tea contributes additional caffeine. This is not a low-caffeine product. If you are sensitive to caffeine, we recommend brewing with cooler water and a shorter steep, or choosing our Quiet Time Tea instead.
What does it taste like?
Bright and layered. The green tea and spearmint give it a clean, fresh opening. Ginger and cardamom add warmth and spice. Tulsi and ashwagandha bring an earthy, slightly herbal depth. Guayusa adds sweetness and body.
How much should I use per cup?
Start with 1 teaspoon per 8 oz. Adjust to taste — more leaf for a stronger cup, less for a lighter one.
Can I re-steep this blend?
Yes. A second steep at slightly higher temperature will produce a different but still flavorful cup.
